ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS TO KETAMINE INFUSIONS?
If you have uncontrolled hypertension, congestive heart failure, or cardiac disease, we must optimize your medical regimen prior to treatment.
If you are pregnant, or breastfeeding you are not a good candidate for treatment without the direct collaboration with your obstetrician. We do not offer treatment to patients who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder.
WILL I NEED TO STOP TAKING ANY OF MY MEDICATIONS?
Patients that are on MAO-I type medications such as Isocarboxazid (Marplan), Phenelzine (Nardil), Selegiline (Emsam), or Tranylcypromine (Parnate), need to be tapered off their medication 2 weeks prior to infusions.
Patients that are on high doses of benzodiazepines such as Alprazolam (Xanax), Lorazepan (Ativan), Clonazepam (Klonopin), or Diazepam (Valium) may consider decreasing to lower doses prior to infusion, but they may remain on these medications during the infusion time.
